How do you silence the violence that is erupting in the streets?
Do you do it with a bullet?
Or a nigga’ with a finger and a tripped out base beat?
How do you relate if you live behind a gate?
In a big white house
With a big white face
Congress is beyond us
Living in sin
Dropping bombs
And sending poor kids in
Only to die
For a rich man’s lie
How can we condemn
A man who loves a man
We defile love
If we claim sex is the only way in
We build typo dongs
And long range bombs
We strive for freedom
And fear is our prison
We watch Africans die
And governments pry
A Muslim A Christian, a Buddhist a Jew
Hate, Revenge, is this what Jesus would do?

Impressive. Great imagery. I really like this poem. The only line that caught me was “Hate, Revenge, that’s what Jesus would do.” I think it would be better to only one one comma after revenge. The other thought is that you should put periods in where you complete a sentence so the reader will pause and not read on without a break. Hope you don’t mind the constructive criticism. If so, let me know.
