A Families Journey of Life & Love

5mths, 2wks, 2days

wght: 13.8 two weeks ago.

Mile Stones: sitting up pretty well, holding my own bottle, eating solids (a little), mastered rolling from tummy to back, Completely obsessed with my Toes! Stranger anxiety.
Nick Names: Sweet Chunks, Freddy, and Chewy ( from Star Wars)
Hobbies: Toes, Swinging, Ball, hanging upside down

Time is going by so fast and I’m growing even faster. It seems I master skills so much faster now. Mom says I’m a real baby now, whatever that means. I am all set now with all the sports gear any baby should need. Mom and Dad got busy with Craig’s list and a short trip to ReI and I’m set. For a little bit that is. I now have a Bob stroller, which Dad loves to roller blade me around in. We even test crashed it and it is the safest stroller out there. I didn’t even know what happened, one minute I was sleeping the next I was awake. We also got a Burly trailer for Mom and Dad’s bikes. We’re supposed to wait till I’m a year, but Dad rigged it up last week with my car seat and we took a very slow stroll on West Cliff. I did what I do best and slept the whole way. Mom says we’ll have to wait till I’m big enough to wear a helmet for next time. Finally, A new Back Pack from REI! This one I picked out myself. Mom was test driving a new bike, when she came back in the store, I was test driving my back pack and having so much fun. I could see everything from the top of Dad’s shoulders! A bird’s eye view! I can’t wait to go for a hike. It even has a mirror for Mom and Dad to see how I’m doing up in the sky.

Last Sunday I celebrated my 5mth 1wk birthday with Banana! Yummy!!! I ate it all up. The spoon was fun to play with too. Since then Mom’s given me apple/banana smoothie and tonight was Yam. I liked the yam. I’m not too fond of that rice cereal stuff. Mom tried to trick me with putting her milk in it, but I won’t be fooled. I don’t like breakfast either, more interested in the dinner time hour. The only problem with solids is somehow I get more of it on my face, hands and clothes than down my throat. Another drawback to having hair, it lands in that too, which means more baths. It was kind of funny last night I did a doo in my bumbo while eating my smoothie and I had an emergency bath. Fun part was mom realized I could sit up in my tub all by myself! Rubber ducky here I come.

I played ball this week too. I can catch with my feet. Mom and Dad sit me up, prop my bobby pillow around me and we go to town. If you don’t believe me, Mom’s got video.

My most favorite toy right now are my toes. There’s ten of them and they are always there. I can grab them, suck them, stare at them, wiggle them. Just boundless things to do with them. Mom and me count them every night before going to bed just in case I sucked on one off.

One last thing, I’m sleeping in my crib now and Mom’s packed up all my 0-3mth cloths away. Goodbye infanthood. Hello 6-9mths, here I come!
