Everyday life

January 4, 2008 by Stephen Pasquini

11wks 4days old

It’s raining today, and mom says the old man is snoring, something about bumping his head and not waking up? Mom took me out to see the rain on the front porch and I stopped crying for a bit. I missed grandma today. She came for three days from Stockton and played with me everyday. Mom picked up a free bouncy seat from free cycle and then grandma outfitted it with a rainbow of toys that I could look up at. I almost think I know what these things mom and dad keep calling hands and arms are. I like to suck on them when they move in front of my face and I can catch one. I graduated out of the sink today and into a big girl bath tub. I had lots of fun and could stretch out in it, no more swished baby in the sink. I do miss my friend in the mirror though when I take a bath, I don’t know where she went but she’s not in the big bath tub. Mom and Dad played with each other while I played with grandma. They went surfing and played tennis. Mom also got her Christmas cards done. I’m really confused now, wasn’t Christmas last week? Grandma played Old McDonald with me, it was fun until the Lion came out. I don’t like the lion, Grandma and Mom just laughed at me while I cried. I didn’t think that was very nice.

I had a wonderful Christmas. Wasn’t sure what all the gifts were about but I think I caught on and gave mom and dad a night’s sleep clocking in 8 and a half hours that night. Wasn’t able to do it again until this week. Mom sure is a lot more happy and awake. Sunday I did it again, Monday I did 9 and Tuesday 10! Mom was really happy that day. Last night though I was only able to do 8, Mom says I should try again tonight and start making it a habit. Not sure what that means. I’ll do my best.

My accomplishments this week, are finding my hands, entertaining myself for 15min at a time, and sleeping 8hrs almost consistently. What will happen next? Life is an adventure!
